ReplyDeleteYes, Generics and Brand Name drugs can use different dosages, different fillers, different processes to get the active ingredient. However, the vast majority of the time, they come off the same production line.
A little industry secret, if you have a generic drug plan, and you have an adverse reaction to a generic, you can often get the brand name paid for by having the doctor write "No substitutions" on the prescription pad. Many drug plans will then pay for the Brand Name drug.
